The Deer Maze is a first-person narrative-driven short horror game where you play as a father searching for his
missing child in a sprawling, maze-like family mansion. As the story unfolds, the player uncovers a dark legacy tied to
a curse born from generations of environmental exploitation and disregard for the forest and its creatures.
Developed in Unreal Engine using a combination of C++ and Blueprints, this project was created by a team of three. I was
responsible for all programming aspects. Our goal was to build a moody, atmospheric experience focused on environmental
storytelling and classic key-and-lock puzzle mechanics.
One of the highlights of this project was designing and implementing an octodirectional first-person character controller,
which added depth and fluidity to the player's movement. I also crafted an immersive soundscape using Unreal’s audio volumes
to reinforce the eerie tone and enhance player immersion.
